Questions & policies

What is The Body That Dreams?

The Body That Dreams is an immersive creative workshop exploring the relationship between the body, imagination, dreams, memory, and artificial intelligence. Through sensory exercises, storytelling, image-making, sound, and AI tools, participants develop a personal visual and narrative language.

Do I need previous experience with AI?

No. The workshop is designed for both beginners and people who already work with AI. Each tool and creative process is introduced step by step.

Do I need to be an artist?

No. You do not need an artistic or technical background. The workshop is open to artists, writers, performers, filmmakers, designers, and anyone interested in exploring imagination through the body and emerging technologies.

What will we explore during the workshop?

We will work with dreams, sensory perception, memory, imagination, visual storytelling, movement, sound, and artificial intelligence. The emphasis is on experimentation and on discovering your own creative language rather than achieving a predetermined result.

Which AI tools will we use?

The three main AI platforms used for the workshop exercises are ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Grok. Participants will need paid subscriptions to these three platforms in order to complete the exercises. We may also explore or introduce additional creative AI tools, such as Higgsfield, ElevenLabs, and SUNO, as part of the creative process.

Which AI subscriptions are required?

To fully participate in the workshop and complete the exercises, you will need paid subscriptions to ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Grok. These subscriptions are not included in the workshop fee and must be purchased separately by each participant. Other AI platforms that may be demonstrated or explored are not part of these three core required subscriptions unless otherwise indicated. We strongly recommend creating your accounts and activating your subscriptions before the first session.

What will I create?

Throughout the workshop, you will develop images, visual narratives, experiments with sound and movement, and fragments of a personal dream world. Your final work can evolve into a short film, visual poem, sequence of images, experimental narrative, or another form that emerges naturally from your process.

How is the workshop structured?

The program consists of five 2-hour sessions, followed by a 1-hour Open Studio. Between sessions, participants receive creative exercises designed to continue the exploration independently.

Is the workshop online?

Yes. The workshop takes place entirely online, so you can participate from anywhere in the world.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Sessions are recorded so participants can revisit the material and creative exercises.

What language is the workshop taught in?

The workshop is offered in English and Spanish, depending on the selected group.

What do I need for the workshop?

You will need a computer with internet access, headphones, a notebook, and active paid subscriptions to ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Grok. For some sensory exercises, you may also be invited to bring simple everyday materials, such as fruits, scents, paper, or drawing materials. Specific instructions will be shared before each session.

What if I prefer to keep my camera off?

You are welcome to participate with your camera off whenever you need or prefer to. The workshop respects different sensory needs and ways of participating. Presence, attention, and experimentation are more important than being visible on screen.

Is there homework?

There are creative exercises between sessions, but they are conceived as invitations to continue experimenting rather than traditional assignments. They may involve keeping a dream journal, creating images, drawing, writing, observing sensations, or continuing a story begun during the workshop.

What is the Open Studio?

The Open Studio is a final space dedicated to sharing work, discussing individual projects, receiving feedback, and exploring possible directions for continuing your practice after the workshop.

What makes The Body That Dreams different from a traditional AI course?

This is not primarily a technical course about prompting. The Body That Dreams begins with the body. Instead of asking only what artificial intelligence can generate, we explore what happens when dreams, sensations, memories, gestures, images, and technology become part of the same creative process.

What happens after the workshop?

You leave with a collection of experiments, creative methodologies, prompts, and exercises that you can continue using independently in your artistic practice. More importantly, the workshop proposes a way of working with AI in which technology becomes an extension of imagination rather than its starting point.

Who teaches The Body That Dreams?

The Body That Dreams is created and taught by María Valeria Pazos Fernández, whose practice moves between philosophy, visual art, moving image, sensory experimentation, and artificial intelligence. Her research explores embodied imagination and the ways in which images, sensations, memories, and actions participate in creative experience.
